Job description

Job Responsibilities

1. Assist with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician.
2. Assist with treatments ordered by the physician, under supervision of the physician or registered nurse.
3. Perform select clinical duties, including interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, recording information on patient charts, and preparing treatment rooms.
4. Perform basic clerical duties such as answering phones, maintaining records, and filing.
5. Manage materials by ordering and stocking supplies.
6. Document diagnoses, symptoms, follow-up instructions, and prescriptions as provided by the healthcare provider.
7. Transcribe patient orders, including laboratory tests, radiology tests, and medications.

Certification/Licenses Required

• BLS Provider certification within 1 month (30 days) of hire or transfer, accepted from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Medical Assistant certification within 3 months (90 days) of hire or transfer, from any issuing authority.

Education/Experience Required

• High school diploma or equivalent, or at least 1 year of relevant, job-specific experience.
