Position Details

Title: Medical Assistant (Float)
Department: Healthcare Practices
Status: Full Time – 32 hours per week
Hours: Day shift, with potential evening and weekend hours. Hours may vary based on office and patient needs. Location may also vary.

Job Summary

Responsible for direct patient care in an office or ambulatory setting, primarily clinical services with some clerical duties. Collaborates with the healthcare team to meet patient needs.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent, required.
• Completion of a formal Medical Assistant education program or equivalent, required.
• Previous clinical experience in a primary care setting, required.
• Experience administering medications and child immunizations preferred.
• Experience with public interactions required.
• Computer skills required.
• Experience with authorizations, referrals, insurance verification, and scheduling is desirable.

Licensure/Certification

• Medical Assistant certification or equivalent, required within 3 months of hire.
• BLS certification, required within 6 months of hire.
