Qualifications

About the Position

The Bilingual English/Spanish Medical Assistant Float at Legacy Community Health assists providers in all exams and minor office procedures. You will also be responsible for maintaining supply inventory in exam rooms as well as cleaning and sterilizing equipment. As part of your role, you may also be required to give injections and draw blood.

Legacy Southwest Houston Clinics - Alief, Bellaire, Gulfton, Stafford, and Missouri City

Key Responsibilities
  • Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure vital signs, height, and weight in order to record information in medical records.
  • Collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens; log the specimens; and prepare them for testing.
  • Help physicians examine and treat patients, handing them instruments and materials or performing such tasks as giving injections and removing sutures.
  • Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean.
  • Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.
  • Perform phone consultations with clients regarding test results and health concerns.
  • Provide coverage in various service lines, OB/Pedi/Adult Med, with various clinicians.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Certified Medical Assistant or certificate of Medical Assistant.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
