Job summary

Neighborhood Healthcare seeks a Medical Assistant Float to support multiple clinics in Corona, Riverside FQHC, Rialto, and Arlanza. You will travel between sites, perform direct patient care, collect vitals, assist with vaccines and blood draws, and provide patient education under providers’ supervision.

Requires valid Medical Assistant certificate and current BLS. This role offers daily variation, teamwork across specialties, and growth within a community-focused health network.

Qualifications

• Must have valid Medical Assistant certificate from an accredited program.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Communicates and performs clinical care services with patients.
• Takes patient vital signs and obtains patient intake information.
• Blood draws, vaccines, nebulizers, ear lavages, and EKGs.
• Educates patients and provides resources directly.
• Prepares exam rooms and supplies.
• Coordinates workflows with providers for efficient care.
• Shares needed patient data (images, labs, screenings).
• Supports teams across departments as needed.
• Uses EHRs to document treatment plans.
• Communicates with patients by phone or email.
• Distributes and reviews patient forms.
• Completes mandatory training.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

The Medical Assistant will support various providers, advanced providers, and registered nurses to provide excellent patient-centered care and services within a dynamic team environment. This role will communicate with patients and performs clinical services to ensure high quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

This opportunity is for a Float Medical Assistant role supporting the following clinics: Corona, Riverside FQHC, Rialto, and Arlanza. This role will be expected to float between these sites based on organizational needs.

Instead, you will rotate across multiple clinics within a specific Float Zone, based on business needs. It's important to note: this is not a fixed multi-site position with a set schedule. Float Pool roles are dynamic and require a high level of flexibility.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Direct Patient Care

• Communicates and performs clinical care services with patients
• Takes patient vital signs and obtains patient intake information
• Performs clinical procedures such as blood draws, vaccines, nebulizer treatments, ear lavages, and EKGs
• Discusses patient needs and provides education and resources to patients directly
• Ensures exam rooms are stocked, cleaned, and set up for examinations and procedures

Provider And Team Support

• Coordinates provider workflows to ensure efficient patient care
• Ensures provider has all pertinent information required for each patient visit including diagnostic images, labs and required screenings
• Assists other providers and care teams in women's health, pediatrics and general medicine departments as needed

Clinical Administration

• Utilizes electronic health records to order, process and document clinical treatment plans for patient as directed by the provider
• Conveys information to patients via telephone or email under the direction of a provider or Registered Nurse
• Provides patient with requested documents after review to ensure forms are complete, accurate and executed by the provider
• Completes ongoing/annual training for position compliance

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Valid Medical Assistant Certificate from an accredited program required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification though
