Job summary

Denova Collaborative Health in the Greater Phoenix area seeks a Medical Assistant (Float) to support clinical teams across multiple locations, ensuring patient-centered care and smooth operations.

You will handle chart prep, patient check-in, vitals, injections, blood draws, and room readiness, working onsite with flexible coverage across IHC, Dobson, and South Clinics; CPR/First Aid and AZ fingerprint clearance required; bilingual candidates valued.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a Medical Assistant certificate or a CAAHEP-accredited program.
  • Associate degree in a health-related field or MA certification is preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications required.
  • Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card (assistance provided).
  • At least six months of healthcare experience preferred.
  • Must be 21+ and able to work across multiple clinics.
  • Bilingual candidates valued but not required.
  • Proficiency with EMR, billing software, and portals.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patient charts for upcoming visits and ensure forms are complete.
  • Greet patients, check-in, and escort to examination rooms.
  • Record vitals, medical history, visit reasons, and document in the chart.
  • Conduct visual acuity screenings during routine exams.
  • Administer injections and assist with procedures.
  • Draw blood, collect specimens, perform urine drug screens, report results.
  • Maintain clean exam rooms, restock supplies, and dispose of waste.
  • Collaborate with providers to troubleshoot patient issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Job Purpose

As a Medical Assistant (Float), you will play a vital role in supporting our clinical teams by ensuring seamless patient care and provider support across various locations. This position is key to maintaining high-quality care and operational flexibility, stepping in where needed to uphold our commitment to patient-centered service and excellence.

What You Will Do
  • Prepares patient charts for upcoming visits, ensuring all necessary forms are completed, reviewed, and properly integrated into the patient's chart.
  • Welcomes patients, conducts check-in, and escorts them to examination rooms.
  • Performs delegated medical tasks, including recording vitals, medical history, reasons for the visit, and documenting all in the patient's medical record.
  • Conducts visual acuity screenings as part of routine physical exams.
  • Administers injections and assists providers with medical procedures.
  • Performs blood draws, collects specimens, conducts urine drug screenings, and communicates results.
  • Maintains cleanliness and readiness of exam rooms between appointments, including stocking necessary supplies and disposing of expired supplies and biohazard waste.
  • Works collaboratively with providers to troubleshoot patient issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What We Need From You
  • Must have reliable transportation and be available to work across assigned clinic locations, including IHC, Dobson, and South Clinics, based on operational needs.
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant certificate or a CAAHEP-accredited program required.
  • An associate degree in a health-related field or certification as a Medical Assistant is preferred.
  • At least six months of healthcare experience preferred.
  • Must hold valid and current CPR and First Aid certifications and an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance card (Denova will assist with obtaining a Fingerprint Clearance Card upon acceptance of the offer).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Proficiency in using electronic record-keeping systems such as EMR, billing software, insurance carrier portals, and spreadsheets is preferred.
  • Bilingual candidates are highly valued, but not a requirement.
  • Applicants must be 21 years of age or older to qualify for this position.

  • Join us onsite for dynamic workdays, Tuesday - Saturday 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Hybrid Saturday’s.
