Job summary

Denova Collaborative Health LLC, a integrative primary care and behavioral health practice serving the Greater Phoenix area, seeks a Medical Assistant to support clinicians with patient care, charting, vitals, and routine exams.

This onsite role is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, retirement, disability coverage, paid time off, and employee wellness programs.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a Medical Assistant certificate or a CAAHEP-accredited program.
  • An associate degree in a health-related field or Medical Assistant certification preferred.
  • At least six months of healthcare experience preferred.
  • Current BLS certification and Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card required (assistance provided).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Familiar with EMR, billing software, insurer portals, and spreadsheets.
  • Bilingual candidates valued but not required.
  • Must be 21 years or older.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patient charts and ensure forms are complete.
  • Greet patients, check in, and escort to exam rooms.
  • Record vitals, medical history, and visit reasons.
  • Conduct visual acuity screenings during exams.
  • Administer injections and assist with procedures.
  • Draw blood, collect specimens, and communicate results.
  • Maintain exam rooms and stock supplies.
  • Collaborate with providers to troubleshoot patient issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job description

Job Purpose: This position serves to provide care to patients under the direction of a medical practitioner in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.

What You Will Do:

  • Prepares patient charts for upcoming visits, ensuring all necessary forms are completed, reviewed, and properly integrated into the patient's chart.
  • Welcomes patients, conducts check-in, and escorts them to examination rooms.
  • Performs delegated medical tasks, including recording vitals, medical history, reasons for the visit, and documenting all in the patient's medical record.
  • Conducts visual acuity screenings as part of routine physical exams.
  • Administers injections and assists providers with medical procedures.
  • Performs blood draws, collects specimens, conducts urine drug screenings, and communicates results.
  • Maintains cleanliness and readiness of exam rooms between appointments, including stocking necessary supplies and disposing of expired supplies and biohazard waste.
  • Works collaboratively with providers to troubleshoot patient issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What We Need From You:

  • Completion of a Medical Assistant certificate or a CAAHEP-accredited program required.
  • An associate degree in a health-related field or certification as a Medical Assistant preferred.
  • At least six months of healthcare experience preferred.
  • Must hold valid and current BLS certification, and an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance card (Denova will assist with obtaining a Fingerprint Clearance Card upon acceptance of offer).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Proficiency in using electronic record-keeping systems such as EMR, billing software, insurance carrier portals, and spreadsheets preferred.
  • Bilingual candidates are highly valued, but not a requirement.
  • Applicants must be 21 years of age or older to qualify for this position.

Your Work Schedule:

  • This is an onsite position,Monday through Friday, with standard hours of8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
