Job summary

ScionHealth is hiring a Float Medical Assistant to support physicians and nurses across multiple clinic sites. You will perform clinical duties, record vital signs, draw specimens, administer vaccines, and assist in procedures under physician supervision.

You will also handle administrative tasks, coordinate care, verify insurance, maintain EMR accuracy, and mentor uncertified staff while upholding safety standards and OSHA/HIPAA compliance. This role requires strong communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced administrative tasks including care coordination, insurance verification, and prior authorizations.
• Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot clinical equipment; ensure EMR accuracy.
• Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for uncertified staff when appropriate.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control procedures.
• Engage in continuing education to maintain certification and advance skills.
• Support quality and performance improvement efforts across the clinic.

Job Summary

Performs both clinical and administrative duties to support physicians and nurses in the medical practice/clinic. Utilizes certified-level competencies to provide comprehensive patient care, including advanced diagnostic tasks and delegated medical procedures within scope of practice. Ensures high-quality patient experience while upholding clinical standards and organizational values. This is a Float position. In this role, the incumbent may be asked to work at a variety of locations to assist with staffing levels as needed.
