Job summary

Michigan Medicine is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to join the Brighton Center for Specialty Care, an ambulatory care facility. The role supports busy outpatient clinics, assists with procedures, takes vitals, updates EMR, and coordinates tests and imaging.

Hybrid or mobile work may be available at department discretion. You will participate in infection control, ensure supplies are stocked, and provide patient communications and portal support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program or related healthcare coursework, or equivalent experience (1–3 years).
• Knowledge of clinical workflows, patient care, and basic medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient flow in an outpatient clinic as part of a team.
• Take vitals, update medications and records in the EMR, prep patients and physicians for procedures.
• Set up and assist in procedures, provide instructions for procedures and treatments.
• Coordinate radiology, labs, and tests; support provider video visits and portal tasks.
• Assist with patient communications, forms, and by stocking supplies; maintain infection control.
• Other duties as assigned.
