Job summary

Piedmont Urgent Care by Wellstreet is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care in a fast-paced clinic. You will assist with examinations, triage, vital signs, and documentation in our EMR system, while maintaining high standards of patient safety and regulatory compliance.

The role offers 12-hour shifts (3 days, 12 hours) with no overnight work, opportunities for professional growth, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• 1+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant (urgent care or ER a plus).
• Proficiency in venipuncture, injections, and clinical procedures.
• Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software, EPIC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing patients for examinations and treatments.
• Perform triage and take vital signs.
• Obtain and document detailed patient history in EMR.
• Collect routine laboratory specimens (blood, urine, oral swabs).
• Administer medications and injections (IM, subcutaneous, intradermal).
• Start IVs, place catheters, and assist with splinting as needed.
• Perform basic clinical and laboratory procedures.
• Assist with Occupational Medicine services and adhere to protocols.
• Enforce HIPAA and OSHA compliance.
• Perform office procedures and general administrative tasks.
