Job summary

Baptist Health in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to support providers and clinical teams. You will prepare patients for exams, take vital signs, document medical histories, and assist with procedures in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.

Responsibilities include managing patient flow, updating electronic medical records, coordinating referrals, and supporting front-office tasks such as scheduling and check-in while upholding infection control and quality

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program; certification or registration as a Medical Assistant preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Medical Assisting, including vital signs, patient preparation, and basic clinical procedures.
• Strong knowledge of Medical Terminology to accurately understand and document provider instructions and patient information.
• Experience in a Medical Office setting, including scheduling, patient registration, and coordination of appointments.
• Effective Patient Care skills, with a focus on empathy, safety, and clear communication in a diverse patient population.
• Ability to work with Medical Records, including accurate data entry and use of electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification or ability to obtain within required timeframe.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Commitment to teamwork, adherence to privacy and compliance standards, and ongoing professional development.
