Medical Assistant - Family Practice - Royal Oak - Full Time

Overview

Under direct supervision of the provider and nursing leadership, the Medical Assistant performs a variety of administrative and clinical tasks to support quality and compassionate patient care. Responsibilities include greeting and escorting patients, obtaining medical histories, measuring and recording vital signs, preparing patients for examinations or procedures, and assisting providers during examinations or procedures.

Pay and Benefits
  • $2,000 Sign-On Bonus
Shift Hours
  • Monday: 10 am - 8 pm
  • Tuesday to Friday: 8 am - 5 pm
  • 2nd Saturday of the month: 8 am - 12 pm

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Basic computer knowledge; keyboarding skills preferred.
  • Ability to perform clinical skills related to ambulatory care.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • EPIC EMR experience preferred.
  • Certification from AAMA/CMA, RMA, CCMA, or NCMA preferred.
Additional Requirements
  • Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with a clinical externship (minimum 160 hours), or
  • One year of recent clinical medical assisting experience, or
  • Current recognized Medical Assistant Certification with at least five years of experience, or
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or
  • Licensed Paramedic/EMT with one year of recent clinical experience, or
  • Military-trained medical personnel with one year of recent clinical experience.
Certifications
  • Current BLS-C certification required upon hire or by end of orientation.
