Job description

Medical Assistant-Family Practice- Full Time
  • Location: St. Clair Shores, MI
  • Assist with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician.
  • Assist with treatments ordered by the physician as supervised by a physician or registered nurse.
  • Perform select clinical duties: interview patients, measure vital signs, record information on patients' charts, and prepare treatment rooms.
  • Perform basic clerical duties including answering phones, maintaining records, and filing.
  • Manage materials, including ordering and stocking supplies.
  • Document diagnoses, symptoms, follow-up instructions, and prescriptions as indicated by the provider.
  • Transcribe patient orders, including laboratory tests, radiology tests, and medications.

CERTIFICATION/LICENCES REQUIRED

  • BLS Provider certification within 1 month (30 days) of hire or transfer; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Medical Assistant certification within 3 months (90 days) of hire or transfer; any issuing authority accepted.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • High school diploma or equivalent, or 1 year of applicable job-specific experience.
