The work schedule is Monday-Friday, with hours between 7am-7pm depending on staffing needs. The salary range for this position is $18.12-$27.76, based on experience.

Role and Responsibilities

The Medical Assistant will assist physicians with various patient care tasks, including clerical, environmental, and organizational duties to ensure patient satisfaction.

1. Patient Assistance: Accompany patients, assist with walking, transfers, dressing, specimen collection, and exam preparation. Collect patient information and vital signs, perform screenings per provider guidelines, and relay instructions to patients and families.
2. Record Management: Send/receive patient medical records in compliance with HIPAA and other regulations. Obtain lab/x-ray reports, hospital notes, and referral information. Complete forms and requisitions.
3. Chart and Appointment Management: Prepare and manage charts, schedule appointments, verify insurance and patient demographics.
4. Clinical Preparation: Prepare patient rooms, set up instruments, and maintain infection control standards. Manage inventory and restock supplies.
5. Patient Flow and Communication: Check schedules, organize patient flow, answer calls, and provide patient education as directed.
6. Clinic Procedures: Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and level one labs. Assist physicians with procedures.
7. Regulatory Compliance: Follow OSHA, CLIA, and state health requirements. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to policies.
8. Medication Administration: Under supervision, administer injectable medications and vaccines as appropriate.
9. Additional Responsibilities: Handle front office duties and perform other assigned tasks.

The role requires adherence to system-wide competencies and behaviors, with the potential for other duties as assigned.
