Responsibilities:

• Manage patient flow and perform diagnostic procedures such as EKGs, phlebotomy, injections, and vital signs.
• Act as a liaison to physicians to ensure patient satisfaction.
• Maintain and order supplies; interact with co-workers, visitors, and staff, ensuring proper identification of patients.
• Perform and document vital signs, clinical care quality measures, and medical history information.
• Stay proficient with IT systems within scope of practice.
• Assist physicians with examinations and diagnostic procedures; perform EKGs and venipuncture/injections as needed.
• Adhere to HIPAA privacy and security requirements.
• Order clinical supplies to maintain inventory and support office operations.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Familiarity with medical office procedures.

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant Certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• BLS through the American Red Cross may be acceptable at some locations.
• Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• For NJ: Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program with at least 330 hours of instruction including injection training.
• For internal Einstein applicants: Certification not required if currently employed in a Medical Assistant role before 7/1/2024 within Einstein.
