Medical Assistant, Family Medicine, Full-time (Glenview, IL)

Join us as a Medical Assistant in Family Medicine at Advocate Health in Glenview, IL. We offer a $2,500 sign-on bonus for external candidates.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Prepare patients for exams, including obtaining vital signs and updating health information.
  2. Perform laboratory procedures such as strep tests and specimen collection.
  3. Assist physicians with procedures like pelvic exams and allergy testing.
  4. Administer routine medications under physician orders or protocols.
  5. Coordinate tests, referrals, and follow-up care, communicating effectively with team and patients.
  6. Support clinical tasks such as suture removal, phlebotomy, EKG, and others, based on competency.
  7. Provide age-appropriate patient care, understanding growth and development principles.
Qualifications
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA, obtained within 45 days if not already held.
  • GED or high school diploma; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or two years of recent experience.
  • No prior experience required.
Skills & Abilities
  • Technical proficiency in routine and complex clinical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in computer use, including electronic medical records.

Physical & Work Environment
