POSITION SUMMARY

Functioning as a team member within a patient-centric care delivery model to provide high-quality service within the practice setting. Able to proficiently navigate multiple information technology platforms and applications. Provides direct patient care services under supervision, demonstrating ProMedica’s values to the patient.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Reports for scheduled shifts on time and professionally, maintaining proper behavior, telephone courtesy, dress, identification, and communication with patients’ colleagues and outside agencies.
  2. Works closely with providers and leadership to improve the patient experience through daily patient care, clerical support, and ongoing projects, assuming additional duties as needed in a self-directed manner.
  3. Prepares patients for visits by taking vital signs, documenting and entering orders within the EPIC system, coordinating support and ancillary services, preparing exam rooms, stocking supplies, and supporting providers and patients. Performs specialized tests such as pulmonary function tests and phlebotomy procedures as needed.
  4. Ensures a safe patient experience by adhering to clinical protocols, regulatory requirements, and manufacturer standards. Reports equipment malfunctions or safety issues.
  5. Supports clerical functions including calls, documentation, and scanning.
  6. Within scope, demonstrates clinical knowledge and customer service skills to triage patient calls, record messages accurately, and obtain necessary instructions from providers and nurses.
  7. Supports internal and external customers to maintain a superior patient experience through teamwork. Communicates professionally and actively participates in staff meetings.
  8. Collaborates with leadership and staff to recommend improvements for safety, quality, and efficiency of care.
  9. Performs other duties supporting ProMedica’s core values as assigned.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Skills: Ability to promote excellent customer satisfaction and patient experience; work independently, prioritize, problem-solve, and collaborate effectively.

Certification: BLS (CPR) from AHA, must present current card at hire or obtain within 90 days.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Completion of a recognized MA program at an accredited institution.

Experience: 1+ years in direct patient care preferred.

Certification: Relevant medical certification (e.g., MA, EMT, STNA) preferred.
