Major Responsibilities:

1. Escort patients to examination rooms, take and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, height, weight, etc. Collect and document patient health status, history, and monitor patient progress following standard procedures.
2. Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and Point of Care (POC) tests according to clinic/office standards.
3. Prepare, document, and administer non-intravenous injections as directed or required by the office/clinic, within scope of practice.
4. Assist in performing routine physical examinations or clinical procedures.
5. Review laboratory results and ensure abnormal results are immediately brought to the attention of physicians and others as appropriate.

Position Qualifications:

License/Certification/Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Heart Saver (HS) certification from the American Heart Association. If not available upon hire, must be obtained within 3 months.
• Medical Assistant credential approved by the Massachusetts Department of Health (ARMA, NHA, etc.).

Equivalent education and experience may be substituted for the above requirements if proficiency in the areas of responsibility is demonstrated.
