UPMC Whiteford Primary Care is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant! Enjoy a schedule with no weekends or holidays, working Monday to Friday between 7am and 5pm, totaling 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with patient care, including clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks to ensure patient satisfaction.
• Support patients by helping with walking, transfers, dressing, specimen collection, and preparation for exams.
• Collect patient information, vital signs, and perform screenings as per provider guidelines.
• Relay instructions to patients and families.
• Handle medical records in compliance with HIPAA and other regulations.
• Obtain lab/x-ray reports, hospital notes, and referral information.
• Complete necessary forms and requisitions.
• Manage and prepare charts, schedule appointments, verify insurance and patient demographics.
• Prepare exam rooms, set up instruments, and maintain infection control standards.
• Manage inventory and restock supplies.
• Organize patient flow and answer calls with pertinent information and patient education.
• Perform clinic procedures such as phlebotomy, EKGs, and assisting with physician procedures.
• Comply with OSHA, CLIA, and state health regulations, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to policies.
• Administer injectable medications and vaccines under physician supervision.
• Handle front office responsibilities and perform other duties as assigned.
