Job summary

UW Health in Wisconsin is seeking candidates for a part-time, 90% FTE day shift role. Shifts are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with hours subject to department needs.

The position emphasizes patient-centered care and collaboration within a team dedicated to delivering high-quality medical services. Candidates may come through multiple qualification routes, including MA programs, LPN licensure, or MA Apprenticeship pathways, with CCMA/CMA/RMA certification considered.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is required.
• Licensure as an LPN is required or alternative MA pathway.
• CCMA/CMA/RMA certification acceptable for UWH employees.
• Acceptance into UWH MA Apprenticeship Program – Accelerated is a valid path for eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Assist in diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses and urgent care.
• Promote healthy lifestyles and provide patient education.
• Prepare patients for examination: obtain vital signs, document complaints, medications and allergies, perform EKGs, administer medications and treatments.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited medical assistant program Required or


• Licensure as an LPN or


• Completion of the UWH Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Program or an Employee Partner Medical Assistant Program or


• Attainment of the CCMA certification as a UWH employee or


• Acceptance into the UWH MA Apprenticeship Program – Accelerated or


• One year of recent Medical Assistant experience and CMA, RMA or CCMA Certification

Work Experience

• 1 year of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant or LPN Preferred

Licenses & Certifications

• Certified as MA, CMA, RMA, or CCMA within 1 Year Required or


• Licensure as an LPN Upon Hire Required


• If applying in lieu of Medical Assistant education or LPN licensure, must have current CMA, RMA, or CCMA certification Upon Hire Required


• CPR/BLS certification Upon Hire Required
