Job summary

Providence is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join a care team to support exams, procedures, injections, and medication administration under supervision. Responsibilities include front desk tasks, patient registration, insurance billing, and cash collection while upholding our mission of compassionate, patient-centered care.

Ideal candidates have MA training from an accredited program, WA MA certification on hire, and BLS from AHA, with at least 6 months in healthcare and MA settings;

Qualifications

• Graduate or completion of an accredited medical assistant program.
• Registration in a medical assistant apprenticeship program is preferred.
• Washington MA certification is required upon hire.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association is required upon hire.
• Minimum 6 months healthcare experience and 6 months MA experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with exams and procedures and take vital signs.
• Administer medications and injections under supervision.
• Perform front desk duties including patient registration and billing.

Job description

Certified Medical Assistant works closely with a team of staff including physicians and advanced level providers to ensure the delivery of high quality patient care. MA duties include assisting with exams and procedures, administering medications, and performing tests under the supervision of a licensed medical provider. The MA is also responsible for front desk, patient registration, insurance billing and payment collection/cashiering in addition to their patient care responsibilities. Actively supports and incorporates the mission and core values into daily activities. Required Qualifications:

• Coursework/Training Graduate of an accredited school that includes hands on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants Or
• Coursework/Training Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program Or
• Coursework/Training Has completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces Or
• Coursework/Training Minimum one year of work experience as a medical assistant that includes the following clinical skills: obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration Or
• Upon hire: Washington Medical Assistant Certification
• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
• 6 months Healthcare experience
• 6 months Medical Assistant experience
