Job summary

Providence is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to work with physicians and advanced providers to deliver high quality patient care. The MA will assist with exams, procedures, administer medications, and perform tests under supervision. Front desk duties include patient registration and basic insurance billing within a patient-focused team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program with hands-on clinical training.
• Completion of a medical assistant apprenticeship or equivalent.
• Minimum one year MA experience with vital signs, injections and medication administration.
• National Provider BLS certification required on hire.

Description

Certified Medical Assistant works closely with a team of staff including physicians and advanced level providers to ensure the delivery of high quality patient care. MA duties include assisting with exams and procedures, administering medications, and performing tests under the supervision of a licensed medical provider. The MA is also responsible for front desk, patient registration, insurance billing and payment collection/cashiering in addition to their patient care responsibilities. Actively supports and incorporates the mission and core values into daily activities. Required Qualifications:

• Coursework/Training Graduate of an accredited school that includes hands on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants Or
• Coursework/Training Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program Or
• Coursework/Training Has completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces Or
• Coursework/Training Minimum one year of work experience as a medical assistant that includes the following clinical skills: obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration
• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
• 6 months Healthcare experience
• 6 months Medical Assistant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Upon hire: National Medical Assistant Certification
