Job summary

American Family Care West Chester is seeking a friendly, skilled Medical Assistant to join our urgent care team. You will support patients through every step of their visit in a fast-paced, team-driven environment.

Responsibilities include welcoming patients, taking histories and vitals, assisting providers, performing CLIA‑waived tests, blood draws, injections, vaccines, EKGs, and maintaining clean, stocked exam rooms while supporting smooth patient flow.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant certification or relevant clinical training.
• Experience in urgent care, emergency, or other fast-paced settings preferred.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, and calm under pressure.
• Excellent communication and a compassionate, patient-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients, room them efficiently, and gather accurate medical histories and vital signs.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, wound care, testing, and treatments.
• Perform CLIA‑waived lab tests, collect and prepare specimens, and maintain lab quality control.
• Administer medications, injections, and vaccines under provider supervision.
• Conduct EKGs, point-of-care testing, and other diagnostic support tasks.
• Draw blood for labs as ordered.
• Keep documentation complete, accurate, and timely.
• Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for patient care.
• Support smooth patient flow in a high‑volume environment.
• Perform drug screens and provide patient education and follow‑up instructions.
• Contribute as a collaborative, dependable member of the clinical team.
• Follow all infection control, safety, and compliance standards.
