Job summary

Jobtailor in Illinois is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to support providers and patients across multiple sites. You will perform vital signs, histories, and screenings, prepare patients for exams, administer vaccines, and assist during procedures.

Role requires strong documentation in electronic health records, teamwork with physicians and nurses, and the ability to travel between Aurora, Naperville, and Downers Grove. Typical hours are Monday to Friday 8-5 with Saturday rotation.

Qualifications

• Certification as Medical Assistant or MA with 2 years of MA experience preferred
• Phlebotomy skills are preferred
• Must be able to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 35 pounds and mobility requirements as part of patient care

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Must have a medical assistant diploma or 2 years of medical assistant experience or be a certified MA with 2 years of medical assistant experience, to qualify
• Phlebotomy skills are preferred
• Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday
• Must be able to lift and support 35 pounds
• Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present
• Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functions
• Ability to maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines
• Ability to perform physical safety interventions such as patient restraint and verbal de-escalation, if needed
• Ability to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions
• Physical Abilities Testing may be required
• May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste, blood and body fluids, and communicable disease; protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary
