Job summary

OhioHealth is seeking a Medical Assistant for the PCP Balgreen location in Mansfield, OH. The role involves administrative and clinical duties under physician supervision, with a 4-10 hour day schedule and 40 hours per week.

You will assist with patient prep, documentation in Care Connect/EPIC, and support the health care team to ensure smooth patient flow. The position requires a High School Diploma or GED and BLS certification; prior MA experience or military medic background is valued.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (Required)
• BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association

Responsibilities

• Facilitates efficient and effective patient flow including preparing the patient for the visit and providing specific services as determined by providers in accordance with provider licensure, OH policy and scope of practice.
• Successful completion of Care Connect EMR documentation skills.
• Performs necessary administrative duties that assure all information is current and updated.
• Maintains and cleans environment, work area, equipment, and communicates any equipment malfunctions to appropriate dept/unit personnel.
• Communicates with patients and customers in a respectful and caring manner.
• Engages in continuous study of the entire professional field to maintain competence and skills.
• Promotes and advocates for patient quality, safety, and experience initiatives.
• Acts as SME/resource to the dept/unit/practice in areas such as quality, performance improvement, and EMR (i.e., EPIC Super User).
• Functions as a clinical preceptor and training new staff.
• As a High Reliability Organization (HRO), focus on safety, quality and efficiency in performing job duties.
