Job summary

TexomaCare, affiliated with Universal Health Services, is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care in Durant, Oklahoma. Responsibilities include interviewing patients, taking vital signs, venipuncture, and assisting physicians during examinations within scope of state practice.

The position requires a High School Diploma (or equivalent) and an MA certificate or one year of MA experience, with BLS/CPR certification. Proficiency with EMR and basic Office software is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Current BLS/CPR certification required.
• Medical Assistant Certificate of Completion or one year of experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Familiarity with medical terminology required.
• Experience with patient check-in and check-out per clinic protocol.
• Proficiency in basic computer programs and operating systems, such as Microsoft Office.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Venipuncture and procedures as directed by physician.
• Documenting in Electronic Medical Records per IPM guidelines.
• Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations.
• Assist in covering the front desk as required.

Medical Assistant - Durant Oklahoma

The Medical Assistant - Durant Oklahoma is responsible for performing a wide variety of patient care duties, which include assisting in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. Interviewing patients, measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), venipuncture, and procedures as directed by the physician within the scope of practice in the State. Documentation is recorded in the Electronic Medical Record in accordance with IPM guideline. Prepares treatment rooms for the examination of patients. Assists in covering the front desk as required.
