Medical Assistant - Dermatology-Troy - Full Time (40 Hours)

General Summary: Under direct supervision of the provider and nursing leadership, the Medical Assistant performs a variety of administrative and clinical tasks to assist in the quality and compassionate care provided to patients.

New Payrates!:
- $2,000 SIGN ON BONUS**

Responsibilities include greeting and escorting patients, obtaining medical histories, measuring vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and assisting providers during procedures.

Shift Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, and one Saturday every 2-3 months from 7:30 am - 12:00 pm.

Location: Henry Ford Medical Group, Department of Dermatology, 2825 Livernois Rd, Troy, MI 48083

Education/Experience Requirements:

• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills preferred.
• Ability to perform clinical skills related to ambulatory care preferred.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills preferred.
• EPIC EMR experience preferred.
• Medical Assistant Certification from AAMA/CMA, RMA, CCMA, or NCMA preferred.

Additional Requirements:

• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with a clinical externship (160 hours minimum), OR
• One year of clinical medical assisting experience within the past five years, OR
• Current Medical Assistant Certification with five years of experience, OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), OR Licensed Paramedic/EMT with one year of recent experience, OR military-trained medical personnel with one year of recent experience.

Certifications/Licenses Required: Current BLS-C certification upon hire or by end of orientation.
