Job summary

MedNOW Clinics in Colorado is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our busy clinics. You will work side-by-side with providers to perform clinical and administrative duties, from rooming patients and taking vitals to assisting with procedures and documenting care in Athena EHR.

This role offers clinical exposure for students in Pre-Med/Pre-PA/Pre-Nursing tracks and emphasizes compassionate patient care within a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• 1–3 years of hands-on clinical experience preferred.
• Current BLS/CPR certification required.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Experience with Athenahealth EHR strongly preferred.
• Professional, empathetic, and patient-focused demeanor.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and compassionate patient care.
• Collaborate with providers and clinical staff as part of a team.
• Review daily schedules, prepare patient charts, and confirm visit details.
• Collect medical history, vitals, medications, and other key information.
• Perform point-of-care testing and EKGs as needed.
• Administer and document medications and immunizations accurately.
• Assist providers with exams and minor procedures.
• Perform phlebotomy and process lab orders.
• Manage medication refills, referrals, and patient callbacks.
• Maintain clean, organized exam rooms and infection control.
• Support front office operations as needed.
• Document patient care in Athena EHR and communicate effectively.
• Monitor provider worklists in Athena.
• Uphold patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

POSITION OVERVIEW

As aMedical Assistant at MedNOW, you’ll play a vital role in delivering top-qualitycare and ensuring every patient’s experience is positive and seamless. You’llwork side-by-side with our providers and clinic team to perform both clinicaland administrative duties — from rooming patients and taking vitals toassisting with procedures, managing documentation, and keeping the clinicrunning smoothly.

Thisposition provides valuable clinical exposure and professional experience forstudents enrolled in Pre-Med, Pre-PA, or Pre-Nursing programs.

WHATYOU’LL DO

• Provideexcellent customer service and compassionate patient care

• Collectmedical history, vitals, medications, and other key information
• Performpoint-of-care testing (urine, rapid tests, EKGs, screenings, etc.)
• Administerand document medications and immunizations accurately
• Assistproviders with exams and minor procedures
• Performphlebotomy and process lab orders
• Managemedication refills, referrals, and patient callbacks
• Maintainclean, organized exam rooms and ensure proper infection control
• Supportfront office operations as needed
• Accuratelydocument patient care in Athena EHR and communicate effectively
• Monitorand manage provider worklists (“buckets”) in Athena
• Upholdpatient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
• Performother duties as assigned to support smooth clinic operations

QUALIFICATIONS
