Job summary

HCA Healthcare's LGP - Alleghany Surgery is hiring a Medical Assistant to support patient care in a busy practice. This full-time, days-only role offers no nights, no on-call, no weekends or holidays.

You will prepare patients for exams, record histories and vital signs, assist with injections, lab testing, minor procedures, stock rooms and maintain equipment. Certification options are listed, and a comprehensive benefits package is included.

Qualifications

• One year of Medical Assisting or direct clinical patient care experience in a healthcare setting.
• Medical Assistant Certification is required or obtained within 60 days of employment.
• If certification not yet held, must obtain Medical Assistant Certification within one year of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination and treatment by taking histories and vital signs.
• Prepare exam and treatment rooms with instruments and maintain supplies and equipment.
• Give injections and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy.
• Assist physicians in preparing for minor surgeries and physicals.
• Answer telephone calls and screens for referral.
