Qualifications

• Provides an appropriate clinic environment for patient care by maintaining the patient area in an orderly manner and keeping exam and treatment rooms neat.
• Performs patient care activities within the scope of the position under direct supervision, including vital signs, height/weight, phlebotomy, and other health screenings.
• Assists patients and families with navigation in the clinic and with appointments.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and orders clinic and lab supplies, including stocking of lab, clinic and infusion areas.
• Ensures proper disposal of waste and uses Standard Precautions to minimize exposure to infectious processes.
• Verifies patient identification before obtaining specimens and ensures specimens are labeled with patient identifiers and time.
• Ensures lab and patient charges are completed accurately daily in the system or on paper.
