Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Completion of MA program and externship, MA internship, EMT program, Paramedic program, or Certified Athletic Trainer.
• MA-Non-Credentialed I: MA eligibility or EMT license in Michigan; CPR certification.
• MA-Credentialed I: CMA / RMA / NCMA / CCMA / NRCMA / CMAC certifications.
• 0-1 year clinical experience preferred; 2+ years if no MA program completed.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and prepare patients for appointments.
• Collect and document patient histories, vital signs, and health information.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, testing, and specimen collection.
• Administer medications and perform diagnostic testing as directed.
• Communicate test results and provider instructions to patients.
• Provide patient and family education to support better health outcomes.
• Coordinate care and liaise between patients and providers.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and disease management programs.
