About the Role

As aMedical Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting providers and ensuring seamless patient care. Your responsibilities will include:

Rooming patients quickly and efficiently

Performing Electrocardiogram (EKG) procedures and vital sign measurement

Updating medical records

Assisting with minor procedures and administering injections

Supporting patients through their visit, including discharge and follow-ups

Managing medical supplies and ensuring a clean work environment

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

High School diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)

Medical Assisting diploma from an accredited vocational institution, a community college program in medical assisting preferred.

Experience:

Minimum one year of recent experience working in a medical facility as a Medical Assistant, Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), Caregiver or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) preferred.

Experience with Electrocardiogram (EKG), taking vital signs, venipuncture, capillary and giving injections.

Other Requirements:

Must possess a current BLS certification or obtain BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Current health records with the appropriate immunization to work in the health care field (Hepatitis B and Tuberculosis).

General Physical Requirements
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch.
  • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Work Environment:Combination of medical office and exam/procedure room settings.

OSHA CategoryThis position performs tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids and/or tissues. All employees performing these duties are offered the opportunity to receive the Hepatitis-B vaccination series.
