Job summary

Catawba Valley Medical Center is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians and the care team in a busy outpatient setting. Under direct supervision, you will perform a broad range of clinical and administrative tasks to ensure efficient, patient-centered care.

The role requires a High School diploma, BCLS certification within three months, and experience with electronic health records. Strong teamwork and patient service skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; BCLS certification required within three months of employment date.
• Knowledge of basic ICD & CPT codes is preferred.
• Experience with electronic health records and healthcare administrative duties is expected.
• Internship with good references or extensive customer service background acceptable in lieu of experience.
• Five+ years in a medical office as a medical assistant for clinical duties is a plus.

Education & Credentials:

Work Experience:

Required

One year experience in a healthcare setting performing administrative duties in a healthcare setting using an electronic health record system (EHR). If no experience, must have completed a successful internship with good reference(s) or an extensive customer service background. One year of experience in a healthcare setting performing clinical duties. Telemedicine experience may be considered as clinical duties. If no experience, must have completed a successful internship with good reference(s). Given training and on-the job experience, incumbent should be proficient in basic aspects of job within three months of employment date.

Preferred

Five or more years of working experience in a medical office as a medical assistant performing clinical duties.
