Medical Assistant - Covington Primary Care

Job Summary

Reports to the Practice Manager or Team Leader, the Medical Assistant provides clinical support to physicians and mid-level providers. Responsibilities include instructing patients as directed, ensuring compliance with OSHA/CLIA and HIPAA regulations, and completing duties vital to business operations.

Job Details
  • Type: Regular, Full-time (40 hours/week)
  • Education: High School Diploma/G.E.D. minimum; knowledge of MS Office
  • Experience: 1 year in MA, CNA, PCA, STNA, or clinical tech, or completed externship/internship or EMT certification, or degree in health sciences
  • Certifications: Preferred credentials include CCMA, CMA, RMA, ARMA, or EMT
  • Pay: Starting at $16.24 (MA I), $19.19 (MA II), based on experience
  • Benefits: No nights, holidays, or weekends (except urgent care), PTO, medical/dental/vision, 403b with match, career growth opportunities
Responsibilities
  1. Escort patients, take vital signs, and document in patient charts.
  2. Assist during exams, perform nursing procedures, and provide patient instructions.
  3. Collect specimens, perform basic tests, and administer medications under supervision.
  4. Maintain supplies, clean and disinfect rooms, ensure compliance with OSHA, CLIA, and HIPAA.
  5. Handle patient communications, process referrals, and manage patient records.
  6. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Additional Requirements
  • Obtaining vital signs, assisting with exams and procedures, administering injections, performing EKGs, and collecting samples.
  • Answering patient calls and triage.
