Job summary

OSUP Community Medical Group is seeking a Medical Assistant to support direct patient care and routine procedures under clinical protocols. You will room patients, record vital signs, collect specimens and assist with examinations, tests, and treatments.

The role includes preparing patients for visits, interviewing patients, and coordinating data for providers, while benefiting from comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and retirement programs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with at least one eligible option listed.
• Diploma from a Medical Assistant Program or related credential.
• Minimum 1 year of medical assisting experience.
• Military Medic or EMT-P training is acceptable.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Purpose: assist with direct patient care and routine specialized procedures per protocol.
• Room patients and record vital signs (height, weight, temp, BP, pulse, respiration).
• Complete patient interview and history; prepare for examinations and explain procedures.
• Assist in examinations, carry out treatments and tests; set up rooms and equipment.
• Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) and perform routine lab tests.
• Manage medical office inbox and coordinate communications with patients and staff.
• Oversee reception of incoming patient information and data gathering for providers.

Education

Medical Assistant Program Diploma

1 year medical assisting experience

Military Medic training

• Manage and organize the medical office's inbox, ensuring timely and accurate communication with patients, healthcare providers and other stakeholders.
• Oversee the reception of incoming patient information and gather necessary data for healthcare providers.
