Job description

The Carlisle Urology office is seeking a Medical Assistant to join their supportive work environment. This role emphasizes team collaboration and patient care, working closely with colleagues.

The position requires monthly travel to their satellite offices in Shippensburg and possibly Chambersburg. Reliable transportation is essential.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., with weekends and holidays off.

Salary range: $18.12 - $27.76 per hour, based on experience. A $1500 sign-on bonus is also offered.

The Medical Assistant will support physicians with patient care, including clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks to ensure patient satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist patients with walking, transfers, dressing, specimen collection, and preparation for exams.
  • Collect patient information, take vitals, and perform screenings as per provider guidelines.
  • Relay instructions to patients and families.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other regulations.
  • Obtain lab, x-ray reports, hospital notes, and referral information.
  • Complete necessary forms and requisitions.
  • Manage and prepare patient charts, schedule appointments, verify insurance, and update patient demographics.
  • Prepare exam rooms, set up instruments, and maintain infection control standards.
  • Restock supplies and organize patient flow.
  • Answer calls, provide patient education, and assist with clinic procedures.
  • Comply with OSHA, CLIA, and state health department regulations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of medical records and data.
  • Follow all organizational policies and procedures.
  • Under supervision, administer injectable medications and vaccines when appropriate.
  • Perform front office duties as needed and adhere to system-wide competencies and behaviors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
