Description

MaineHealth Adult Specialty Care is a small, close-knit, high-functioning team committed to patient care. The practice focuses on two specialties: Hepatology and Infectious Disease (ID). The Hepatology team treats various liver conditions, including pre- and post-liver transplant cases. The ID team manages viral hepatitis, HIV, and HIV prevention services. The office operates Monday-Friday, 8 am-4:30 pm. We seek an MA or LPN available during these hours; flexibility may be considered for the right candidate. Responsibilities include rooming patients, administering vaccines, completing medication refills, inputting labs, and chart abstraction. Opportunities exist for hands-on skills such as administering IM injections, performing fibroscans, and assisting with paracentesis procedures. The ideal candidate is compassionate, adaptable, and collaborative.

LPNs are encouraged to apply (must be Maine Licensed).

Summary - Medical Assistant

This role involves patient care and administrative duties in a team-based environment to ensure smooth patient flow. The MA functions under the license of the supervising physician or advanced practice provider when performing clinical tasks.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. High School diploma or GED preferred, with relevant clinical training or experience as specified.
  2. Current certification from AAMA, NHA, AMT, or NCCT preferred; BLS certification required within 30 days of start.
  3. At least 6 months of clinical experience or equivalent training.

Summary - Clinical Team Assistant

The Clinical Team Assistant supports daily patient services to aid the clinical team. They work under the provider’s license during clinical activities.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Graduate of an accredited health sciences program or relevant clinical experience.
  2. Current BLS certification within three months of hire.
