Job summary

Oak Street Health in Des Moines, IA is seeking a Medical Assistant to gather medical information and support providers in delivering patient-centered care. You will work with a care team to ensure accurate data collection, coordinate screenings, and assist in vaccines and point-of-care tests as needed.

The role requires certification or MA program completion, EMR experience, strong communication, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced clinic. Full-time hours and CVS Health benefits provided.

Qualifications

• State or national certification or completion of an accredited MA program.
• 1 year experience as a medical assistant and CPR/BLS certification.
• Electronic Medical Record experience and computer literacy (Gmail, Word/Docs, Excel).
• US work authorization and ability to work in Des Moines, IA.

Responsibilities

• Ensure efficient patient flow; room patients, record vital signs and screenings.
• Inventory supplies and stock exam rooms.
• Assist with telephonic requests (lab results, records).
• Administer vaccinations and point-of-care tests where allowed by state.
• Import documents into EMR via scanning or PDF upload.
• Participate in care team meetings to discuss patient care and clinic operations.
• Process orders for durable medical equipment.
• Request medical records from external providers as required.
• Maintain infection control measures and quality checks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
