Qualifications

• Graduation from an NYS-accredited Medical Assistant program is required.
• Current Medical Assistant certification preferred (NHA, AMT, AAMA, NCCT).
• BCLS certification (in-person training) required.
• Strong clinical skills including phlebotomy and aseptic technique.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms: sanitize, stock supplies, and ensure medications/vaccines are ready for the day.
• Review upcoming appointments and identify gaps in care (mammograms, colonoscopies, immunizations).
• Escort patients to rooms and manage patient flow to maximize efficiency.
• Take and record vitals, patient history, allergies, medications, and current concerns.
• Assist with procedures, including EKGs, Holter monitors, and in-office testing.
• Collect and process lab specimens; track and document results.
• Perform quality control on equipment and testing materials.
• Help at the front desk when needed — greeting patients, answering phones, verifying insurance.
• Collaborate with providers and the care team to ensure the best patient outcomes.
