Job summary

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved Medical Assistant program is required.
• Externship/preceptorship in a clinical setting or 6 months of MA experience is required.
• Current enrollment in a nursing program with half nursing courses completed may qualify.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms and equipment for patient treatment.
• Assist providers with examinations, injections, and phlebotomy.
• Handle telephone triage and patient communication per protocol.
• Maintain accurate documentation and scheduling of tests and procedures.
• Dispense medications under provider direction and relay information to pharmacy.
• Ensure age-appropriate patient care as defined by policy.
