Job summary

DHR Health RMF Clinic in Brownsville, TX is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the administrative and clinical team. You will scribe, take vital signs, assist with patient visits, schedule referrals, and help maintain patient records and clinic flow.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assistant Program required.
• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• BLS required within 30 days of hire.
• Must be able to communicate clearly in English and with diverse patients.
• Experience in a busy physician office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic administrative medical assisting functions, assists RN and MD.
• Assist in obtaining patient history, chief complaint and vital signs as necessary.
• Schedule and coordinate referrals and appointments within or outside DHR.
• Adhere to managed care policies affecting patient benefits.
• Maintain neat, stocked exam rooms and set up rooms for procedures.
• Maximize patient flow and assist with in-office procedures as needed.
• Register patients, verify insurance benefits, and manage patient records.
