Job summary

Munson Healthcare is seeking a Medical Assistant for Charlevoix Family Practice in Charlevoix, MI. This full-time position offers a day shift (7:30 AM – 5:30 PM), 40 hours per week, and a $9,000 sign-on bonus (terms apply).

The clinic emphasizes comprehensive patient care and teamwork in a beautiful northern Michigan setting. You will perform both clinical and administrative tasks, room patients, take vitals, collect specimens, document histories, and support providers to ensure a smooth patient

Qualifications

• Credentialed Medical Assistant from Munson Healthcare Credentialing Organization.
• BLS certification preferred and must be obtained within 90 days of hire and maintained.
• Experience with Phlebotomy is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Room and prepare patients according to clinic checklists or procedures.
• Measure patient vitals (weight, height, SpO2, respiration, temperature, pulse, blood pressure).
• Complete required patient care documentation (Medical Histories, referrals, etc.).
• Assist providers and teammates to ensure smooth clinic operations.
• Perform procedures following established protocols and sterile technique.

A Day inthe Life

• As a Medical Assistant Procedural, you willcomplete clinical and administrative tasks within the clinic. You willwork alongside the provider tomake sure our patients are taken care of, and the clinic runs smoothlyIf you have and enjoy using your procedure-based skills, this opportunity is perfect for you!

You will be the first point of patient care within the clinic. You will room and prepare patients according to clinic specific checklists or procedures.You will measurepatient weight, height, oxygen saturation, respiration, temperature, pulse (manual and automatic), blood pressure (manual and automatic), and other patient care which can vary based on clinic.

You will completerequired patient care documentation including Medical Histories, referral requests, etc. You will also perform a variety of procedures with patients following established protocols and processes including sterile procedure setup and specimen collection.

You will assistwith day-to-day operations as required for optimal patient care which can include assisting fellow teammates and providers when necessary.

What’s Required

CREDENTIALED MEDICAL ASSISTANT

• High school graduate or GED equivalent is preferred
• Credentialed as a Medical Assistant from an approved Munson Healthcare Credentialing Organization.
• BLS certification preferred and must be obtained within 90 days of hire and maintained.
• Experienced in Phlebotomy is highly preferred.
• NON-CREDENTIALED MEDICAL ASSISTANT
• High school graduate or GED equivalent is preferred
• One year (1) relevant experience working in a physician practice or similar healthcare setting in a provider/patient support or Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program approved by Munson healthcare.
• BLS certification preferred and must be obtained within 90 days of hire and maintained

Munson Healthcare requires all employees be vaccinated or have lab confirmed immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella. MHC also requires all employees to receive a flu vaccine during the flu season in the year that they are hired and annually thereafter, or receive an approved medical or religious exemption.
