Job summary

MultiCare Clinics is hiring a Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) for a full-time, on-site position in Washington (Gig Harbor). The role supports the Physician/APP office team under supervision, with day shifts and clinic hours.

An urgent hire bonus of $5,000 is offered for external applicants who have 1 year of experience and commit for 2 years. The MA-C will manage patient flow, take vital signs, assist with exams, collect specimens, administer medications per state regulations, and coordinate

Responsibilities

• Fulfills patient care responsibilities as assigned including organizing patient flow with front office staff.
• Interviews patients and obtains vital signs.
• Assists patients preparing for exams or treatments.
• Performs specimen collection including venipuncture.
• Administers medications per Washington DOH regulations and competency.
• Relays instructions to patients and families/caregivers.
• Fulfills clerical duties such as sending/receiving patient records and facilitating referrals.

Position Summary

The Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) is an integral part of the Physician/Advanced Practice Provider (APP) office team working under the direction and supervision of a licensed healthcare practitioner. Work situations require performance of safe clinical skills within the scope of practice of the MA-C. The MA-C has continuous contact with physicians, APPs, nurses, front office staff, patients and their families/caregivers.

Responsibilities

• Fulfills patient care responsibilities as assigned which may include:
  • Organizing patient flow in collaboration with the front office staff
  • Interviewing patients
  • Obtaining vital signs
  • Assisting patients in preparing for exams or treatments
  • Performing specimen collection, including venipuncture
  • Administration of medications in compliance with Washington State Department of Health regulations and documented competency
  • Relaying instructions/information to patients and their families/caregivers
• Fulfills clerical responsibilities as assigned which may include:
  • Sending and receiving of patient medical records
  • Facilitating patient referrals
