Job Description

This position may be eligible for a Sign-On Bonus.

The Medical Assistant functions as an important member of the healthcare team by providing basic clinical, clerical, and technical support to assist providers in planning for patients’ care, comfort, and safety. The individual performs in a manner consistent with Marshfield Clinic Health System’s (MCHS) mission, policies, and initiatives while maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.

Job Qualifications

Education

For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.

Minimum Required: Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with AAMA or RMA certification. Successful completion of courses in Medical Terminology, Anatomy & Physiology, and Pharmacology (or their recognized equivalents).

Preferred/Optional: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license from the State of Wisconsin.

Experience

Minimum Required: None

Preferred/Optional: Healthcare experience.

Certifications/Licenses

Required: BLS certification by AHA within three months of hire, and one of the following:

• CMA certification by AAMA
• Registered Medical Assistant from AMT

Preferred: BLS certification at time of hire, and LPN license from Wisconsin.
