Job description

Responsibilities

Virginia Mason is seeking a certified Medical Assistant. You will assist providers and other members of the healthcare team in the clinic by performing a variety of back office and patient-related tasks to ensure smooth patient flow within the department. Responsibilities include performing patient care procedures within the Medical Assistant (MA) scope of practice, such as injections, EKGs, ear lavage, blood draws, and measuring vital signs (weight, height, blood pressure, pulse, respirations, temperature). You will manage rooming and patient flow, including pre-visit preparation, assisting during patient visits, and post-visit duties. Additionally, you will inform providers of schedule changes, assist with front office activities, and report test results as directed.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED with the ability to read and comprehend at a 12th-grade level or above.
  • Graduation from an accredited medical assisting program, with Washington State Department of Health Medical Assistant - Certified (CM) or Interim (IC) credential required.
  • Knowledge of third-party payer requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in using a PC required.
