Job summary

Metropolitan Pediatrics in Gresham, OR is hiring a Medical Assistant Certified I for a full-time role in a pediatric clinic. You will support exams, procedures, and patient interactions under supervision, maintain accurate EMR entries, and assist with immunizations while coordinating with the care team.

The role requires a high school diploma, 6–12 months clinical experience or related coursework, CPR/BLS certification, and willingness to obtain MA credentials within 6 months if not already

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent required.
• 6–12 months of experience in a clinical setting or relevant courses taken at an accredited vocational school, or a combination of both required.
• Medical assistant certification/license preferred; if not certified, credentialing must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Prior EMR experience preferred.
• CPR and basic life support required and maintained.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to examination rooms, obtain vital signs, review and reconcile pertinent patient information and history for appointments.
• Administer diagnostic tests and physician-approved procedures, such as immunizations, and other duties as assigned.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure efficient and high-quality patient care.
• Update the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) with relevant information.
• Maintain timely, efficient patient interactions and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Schedule patient appointments, answer phones, and follow up with patients/families professionally.
• Attend site-specific and clinic-wide meetings and participate in huddles.

The Medical Assistant Certified I works closely with a team of providers and advanced providers to ensure the delivery of high quality, patient-centered care. The MAC I is responsible for timely and efficient patient interaction as well as assisting with exams, procedures, and tests under the supervision of a licensed medical provider in a Medical Home environment.

Essential Functions/ Responsibilities

• Escort patients to examination rooms, obtain vital signs, review, and reconcile pertinent patient information and history in preparation for appointment with provider.
• Administer diagnostic tests and physician-approved procedures, such as immunizations and others as assigned.
• Successfully collaborate and work in support of the team to ensure efficient and quality patient care.
• Update the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) with relevant information.
• Successfully work in a fast-paced, changing environment. with effective time management and ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.
• Schedule patient appointments answer the telephone, and follow-up with patients/families in a professional and courteous manner.
• Participate in site-specific and clinic-wide initiatives on an ongoing basis.
• Attend and actively participate in huddles and team meetings.
• Always maintain confidentiality of sensitive patient information.
• Sustain excellent patient interactions using clear communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to maintain acceptable standards of office conduct.
• Punctual, regular, timely, and dependable attendance.

QualificationsEducation/ Experience

• High school education or equivalent required.
