Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to keep the clinic running smoothly for patients and the clinical team. You will proactively prepare patient charts and ensure information is up-to-date for those seen in our facility, with multiple patients daily depending on physicians on-site.

Your success comes from enthusiasm to help others, efficiency, and genuine patient empathy, with duties including injections, EKGs, ear lavage, blood draws, vital signs, and coordinating

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program.
  • Washington State DOH Medical Assistant - Certified (CM).
  • Knowledge of third party payer requirements.
  • Detail oriented with ability to work independently.
  • Strong organizational, problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient with using a PC.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patient charts and ensure information is up-to-date for those seen.
  • Manage rooming and patient flow including pre-visit preparation and post-visit duties.
  • Assist with front office activities and scheduling tasks; inform providers of schedule changes.
  • Perform procedures including injections, EKGs, ear lavage and blood draws; measure vital signs.

Job description

*Job Summary and Responsibilities*

As our Medical Assistant, you'll keep the day running smoothly and efficiently for your patients and clinical team.


Every day, you will take the lead on proactively preparing patient charts, ensuring all information is obtained and up-to-date for those seen in our facility. You can expect to have multiple patients daily depending on the number of physicians are on-site.


Your success in this role comes from your enthusiasm to help others, work efficiently, and your empathy for our patients.


These procedures may include but are not limited to: injections, EKGs, ear lavage and blood draws, measuring patient vital signs (weight, height, blood pressure, pulse, respirations, and temperature), manage rooming and patient flow including pre-visit preparation, assisting with the patient visit, and post-visit duties. You will inform providers of schedule changes that impact patient flow, assist with front office activities and varied scheduling tasks and reports test results as directed by the provider.

  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program

  • Washington State Department of Health Medical Assistant - Certified (CM)

  • Knowledge of third party payer requirements required.

  • Strong aptitude for detail, and ability to work independently

  • Strong organizational, problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills

  • Skill in using a PC
