Job summary

Saint Alphonsus Health System in Boise, ID is seeking a daytime Medical Assistant to support clinic outreach and patient care. The MA will primarily contact patients by phone to discuss screenings and coordinate with the care team on next steps.

This in-person role requires EPIC and Excel proficiency, MA certification within 90 days of hire, and the ability to collaborate with providers and triage nursing staff. A compassionate patient-focused approach is essential in our busy clinic.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required at hire.
• MA certification within 90 days of hire from approved agencies: CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, NRCMA, CMAC, NPCE MA.
• New Graduates: MA certificate of completion or externship hours requirement.
• MA experience: 1 year MA experience or current MA certification or obtain/renew within 90 days from hire.
• BLS for Healthcare providers certification from AHA/ARC or Military Training Network at hire.
• EMT and CNA certifications do not count toward MA certification.

Responsibilities

• Telephone encounters with patients to discuss screenings and coordinate with the care team on next steps.
• Assist with in-basket support including medication prior authorizations and related orders.
• May work at clinics performing direct patient care to fill in when needed.
