UPMC Children's Community Pediatrics is hiring a Full-Time Medical Assistant to support the office in Norwin.

Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care: Perform EKGs, labs, and assist physicians with procedures. Document patient information and relay instructions.
  • Clinic Operations: Prepare and clean patient rooms, manage inventory, and ensure infection control.
  • Administrative Tasks: Schedule appointments, verify insurance, manage charts, and handle front office duties.
  • Compliance: Adhere to HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA, and PA Department of Health regulations. Maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Support: Assist patients with walking, transfers, dressing, and collecting specimens. Answer calls and provide patient education.
  • Medication Administration: Administer injectable medication and vaccines under physician supervision.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior pediatric office experience strongly preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • CPR certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Act 31, Act 33, Act 34, Act 73.
