Job summary

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Medical Assistant (MA) for our Cariology Clinic. Shift/Hours: Full-Time – 40 hours/week, First Shift.

The MA provides instructions to patients as directed by providers and ensures HIPAA, OSHA/CLIA compliance. Responsibilities include patient registration, scheduling, billing, pre-certification, medical records retrieval, and data entry, while maintaining a positive patient experience.

Qualifications

• Education, Credentials, Licenses: HS Diploma/GED; Accredited Medical Assistant Certification or Credential for the state where work is performed.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be acquired during orientation.
• Specialized Knowledge: Medical terminology; Computer fluency/literacy; Communication skills; Maintain patient confidentiality; Organization and prioritization skills.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year as a Medical Assistant in a medical setting.

Responsibilities

• Patient registration and scheduling.
• Patient billing and pre-certification (insurance info; receipts of co-pays).
• Medical records retrieval, release, or collection.
• Data entry and support to patient flow in the unit.
• Assist with routine problem resolution and coordination with staff.
