Shift 1/7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, M-F
$18.64 - $23.30 / hour (Minimum to Midpoint)
Up to $5,000 Sign-On Bonus and $5,000 Relocation Assistance (if located more than 50 miles away)
The Medical Assistant is responsible for providing excellent patient care in a team environment under the supervision of a physician or physician assistant. Responsibilities include patient safety, phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, assisting with minor procedures, lab specimen processing, operation of medical equipment, patient instructions, medication administration, documentation, and maintaining medical records. Additional duties involve coordinating information and prescriptions, and ensuring efficient and safe patient care. Flexibility for late hours, holidays, and weekends is required. Other duties may be assigned by the department manager or supervisor.
High School Diploma or GED required. Completion of an accredited medical assisting program or postsecondary medical assisting program preferred, especially if preparing for national certification (CMA, CCMA, RMA).
Medical Assistant experience is preferred but not required for recent graduates within 2 years of completing an accredited program. One year of experience in a physician's office or hospital outpatient department may substitute for formal education.
Not required to have a license. Certifications such as CMA, CCMA, or RMA are preferred. BLS certification (American Heart Association) is required within the first 90 days of employment.
Knowledge of medical terminology, good communication skills, and basic computer skills are necessary. Flexibility for early/late hours and weekends may be required.
